About Steve Sinton

Steve is an entrepreneurial broadcaster and talk show host. He is a creator of Air America Radio, the fastest growing network in radio history. Steve has worked in - and - on the radio for over 35 years, including ABC, CBS, and Clear Channel.

I am running for Congress because no one, not even my friends who are Republicans, are happy with Washington. We have to restore balance in our nation’s capital. Taking back the House is my first goal. Voting for protection of our civil liberties, opting for affordable health care that can’t be taken away, stem cell research, good jobs with good benefits instead of outsourcing, ensuring women’s rights, our privacy, veterans’ benefits, killing the deficit, a wartime effort for safe, renewable fuels, protecting our environment, and turning Iraq over to the Iraqis is what I will do when I get there.

Making the right choices to ensure our hard-fought democratic freedoms are not taken away, and not being afraid to take a tough stand on tough issues, is my pledge to you. There are those who tell me I will never get elected in a red district, in a red state, against a very red opponent. It’s a good thing I don’t listen to them. If I had listened back then, or our voices would not be heard daily on the air across this country. When we first began with Air America, people told us it would never work. I knew it would.

If I listened now, no one would be running in my district against a Republican, and challenging the stronghold the Republicans have on Washington. I have spent a lifetime accomplishing things people said I couldn’t. This is no different, but I need your help to do it.

Hard-working families like ours don't have it easy these days. We should be able to expect our government to protect our homes, our jobs, our retirement, and our kids’ future. Lobbyists and special interest groups should not be dictating our government. It’s time someone fought for us. Social Security is at risk. Our education system must prepare our kids to thrive. Our foreign policies have alienated us against much needed allies all over the world. We have a right to expect honesty and integrity in our government, but it will only come with change. Let’s put our tax dollars to work for us. It’s time to make things better.

If we are going to call ourselves the good guys, we must begin acting like the good guys.
